Vibroseis is based on the analysis and processing of reflected waves upon geological boundaries, just as reflection seismology. The reflections depend on density and seismic velocity contrasts. Sections can highlight stratigraphic boundaries, tectonic features, dips, faults, folds or reservoirs.

In addition to parameters such as source power, number of active traces, trace spacing and shot spacing, the use of a vibrating source allows the optimization of emitted frequencies (boundaries and duration) to reach each study’s specific targets.

Data acquisition in urban environments could be complicated due to the deployment of cables along profile lines. Our state-of-the-art wireless equipment (WirelessSeismic) allow us to overcome those barriers.

For a very high resolution in the first tens of meters, state-of-the-art microvibrators (P- and S-waves) can be used. Such equipment, coupled with a high receiver density, are able to answer most of the shallow geological issues along with geotechnical problematics.
